Tryon, North Carolina Real Estate and Community Information

A Brief Tryon Community History

Tryon is a small North Carolina town that can trace its modern history back to the 1880s when the Southern Railway established a train depot near Tryon Mountain. Many settlers established orchards and vinyards near the train depot during the late 1890s that still play an important role in Tryon's economy.

Modern interest in Tryon homes for sale began in the 1920s when vacationers discovered our area's beautiful surroundings and views of Tryon Mountain. The discovery prompted the development of several homes near Lake Lanier, the Blue Ridge Golf Club and the Pacolet Valley.

Tryon is now a beautiful resort community that boasts low crime rates, quiet neighborhoods and many outdoor recreation amenities. These benefits make relocating to Tryon ideal for anyone who wishes to leave the demands of modern city life behind.
